The Canadian Home Improvement Show (CHIS) is less than two weeks away from its new November date. In these final days leading up to the Show the numbers speak for themselves:
- 115 Exhibitors
- 30 New Exhibitors
- 325+ Retailers registered
"With a new date and expanded focus, CHIS is offering some of the industry’s best value for home improvement retailers in the Ontario region," says Dave Campbell, President of the Lumber and Building Materials Association of Ontario (LBMAO). "The move to November makes it the second show of the calendar year, but with a more convenient date giving a true head-start on the 2012 sales season for our retailers."
Moved forward from its former February date, the CHIS will be held in November annually in future years. Retailers who attend the November show will benefit from:
- Expanded New Product Showcase
- $20,000 in Cash Draws
- $140 Complimentary Visa Gift Card to all retail stores who attend
"CHIS is the show that helps me make important purchase decisions for the new retail year," confirms retailer, J.D. Van Noy. "This year, particularly with a more convenient date, it’s a must attend for retailers who are serious about sales success. You get to access the exhibitors’ full line of products even earlier and purchase them at exclusive price points."

CANADA WILL VOTE FOR THEIR FAVOURITE IN ONE WEEK!
Hard work and dedication are two of the qualities it takes to make it to the World Junior Hockey Championships. For one lucky minor hockey team, hard work and dedication of a different kind might make their World Junior dreams comes true. Starting November 13, 2011, Canadians will begin voting for their favourite video to send an entire minor hockey team rink-side—including coaches and parents/guardians—to the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton, AB.
The TIM-BR MART World Junior Hockey Video Challenge invites minor hockey teams to film their team spirit and share why they should be guests of TIM-BR MART for four days at the upcoming World Junior Championships in December. Videos can be submitted online at timbrtube.ca or new this year, via Facebook at www.facebook.com/timbrtube. Once published, Canadians will vote for their favourite team beginning November 13, 2011.
The team submitting the winning entry will enjoy roundtrip transportation to Edmonton, AB, accommodations, meals and tickets to three World Junior games, over December 27 – 30, 2011; a prize value of up to $60,000 if won by a team from Nova Scotia, for example. Second and third place teams will receive Source for Sports gift cards valued at $5,000 and $2,500 respectively; a wild card prize, also from Source for Sports ($2,500 gift card) will be awarded to a randomly selected entrant.
Team members must be between the ages of 7 and 14 inclusive and the designated team entrant must be the age-of-majority in his/her province or territory of residence. Voting will begin November 13, 2011 at 12:00:01am EST and end November 27, 2011 at 11:59:59pm EST, which is also when the contest closes.
