Legislative Updates
We have increasingly heard from the association's direct federal construction contractors (i.e., those who work for federal, not state, agencies) that they face significant problems concerning the federal government's issuance of and payment for change orders. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is asking for public input on its proposed 2017 Construction General Permit, which authorizes stormwater discharge from construction sites. Although the Agency’s general permit directly applies in only a handful of states and territories, it serves as a national model for state-issued Construction General Permits. AGC needs your help in crafting comments on how the proposed permit will significantly impact construction operations and overall environmental management on regulated construction sites. Please provide any comments to Leah Pilconis at pilconisl@agc.org by May 6. AGC has prepared a discussion document to facilitate members’ input.

Young Constructors Forum
Join our Young Constructors Forum as we get a special sneak peek of the Moroccan Embassy project on Thursday, April 28th.

The Chancery of Morocco project is a new 50,000 SF building being constructed on the last open lot of International Circle. Construction includes installation of aggregate piles on a severely sloped site and cast-in-place concrete structure, with a mocha crème stone façade. The project tour will include a review of an in-depth VE process that ultimately resulted in the award of the project, the navigation of a project with no permitting requirements, and the utilization of 3D modeling for a complex site logistics package.

Space is limited, so hurry and register before it's sold out! Click the learn more button for registration.
