Congratulations are in order for Moseley Construction Group and Buch Construction for being named as two of the Fastest Growing Companies by the Washington Business Journal! Moseley was number five on the list while Buch Construction was number 34.

This is a huge accomplishment for both companies due to the strict judging practices of the WBJ. According to its website, "The Washington Business Journal places strict thresholds on qualifications for the Fastest Growing Companies List to wean out anomalies and startups that may just be a flash in the pan. To qualify for this List, all companies must be headquartered in the region and maintain growth across three consecutive years.

Additionally, each company must have a minimum of $2 million in revenue in 2011 and reach $10 million in revenue by 2013 - without dipping in between those years. The Washington Business Journal then calculates the percent change between revenue from 2011 and 2012 and revenue from 2012 and 2013, and then averages the two percent changes to rank the List. Why the average? A straight percent change from 2011 to 2013 could reward companies that had one great year and overlook others that had three sustained years of growth."

Boston Properties has awarded Grunley Construction Company, Inc. a contract for the renovation of 1330 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.

The renovation of the 10-story, Class A office building located in Dupont Circle will include upgrades and improvements for the building facade as well as new roofing, windows, exterior landscaping and pavers. The building will remain occupied throughout the construction by a law firm tenant, and the project is expected to have a two-year duration.

"We look forward to revitalizing the 1330 Connecticut Avenue building," said Chip Scott, Senior Vice President and Operations Manager at Grunley. "Given the building’s prime location in the Golden Triangle of the Central Business District, the upgraded facade will complement the high-end neighborhood. We will deliver the same quality renovation services for which Grunley is well known."

Each year our YCF Steering Committee puts together a team for CANstruction to get our creative juices flowing and help fight hunger with the Capital Area Food Bank. This year's theme is "Transportation," and they have decided to build the SmarTrip card (in 3D no less) out of canned goods.

However, they NEED YOUR HELP! With only ONE WEEK until the build out, our team still needs to raise a total of $6000 to purchase cans and supplies. This year's structure will include more than 3500 cans and various leveling and adhesive materials. Although a partnership with Safeway provides a discount and delivery of cans, they still need the support of the AGC membership.

What Has AGC Done For You Lately?
On Oct. 28, 2016, AGC submitted comments as part of the Coalition for Workplace Safety in response to the Occupation Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) "Clarification of an Employers Continuing Obligation to Make and Maintain Accurate Records of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses" proposed rule. This rule would revise the record keeping regulation to allow the agency to cite for inaccuracies on an employer's OSHA 300 Log.
