The City Council was presented with a report on housing in the Charlottesville area and were urged to read it in detail.  The City is working on a housing plan which will take at least a year.

Hampton City Council voted to make some downtown properties avaiable for sale and redevelopment.
A Boston buyer purchased Gallery Midtown from Spy Rock Real Estate.
Hanover County is evaluating a $750 Million Mixed Use project.
Cottage Trails at Culpepper Landing, 183 units, sell for $30 Million to Steadfast Apartments.
The Williams Bridge Co. facility, which is visible from I-95 is under contract.  Buyers hope for large mixed use project zoning.
Mayton Transfer Lofts in Petersburg sells for $21.5 Million to Richmond based Capital Square 1031.
The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority will finance the additional funds to help pay for a $4.2 Million rehablitiation to stabilize the affordable housing community in Henrico.
The latest plan to finish converting the 3 football field long builidng on Overbrook Road now incudes a restaurant component.
Charlottesville's Redevelopment and Housing Authority is entertaining bids from 6 businesses that want to help redevelop the property at South First Street and on the corner of Levy Avenue and Avon Street.
The historic building was renovated into apartments in 2002 and has 154 units.
Liberty Place calls for 85,000 square feet of commercial space and 308 parking spaces along the 600 block of William Street.
The $49 Million dollar development called The Reserve at Rivington is proposed along the 6300 block of Rivington Drive in Chesterfield County.
Apartments range from studios to three-bedroom units, with floor plans ranging from 455 to nearly 1,300 square feet. Monthly rents start at just over $1,000.
VHS to begin construction to add 33 apartments to existing Carver building.  The project focuses on alleviating homelessness by providing stable housing and other services.
