Please note that the deadline for the 2016 Chapter Challenge Program is Saturday, 1 April 2017. To be included in the final calculations and have your chapter be eligible for the award, two things must be completed by each participating facility before 11:59 PM Central Time: 1) All utility data from all competing facilities for the time period of 1/1/2016 through 12/31/2016 must be entered into Energy Star Portfolio Manager 2) A data release by each competing facility must be completed. American Society for Healthcare Engineering Hospitals and health care facilities across the country are working to become more energy efficient. If your facility has reduce energy use, consider applying for an Energy to Care award to bring recognition to your organization's efforts. Applications for the 2017 Energy to Care Awards and the 2017 Energy Champion Award are due April 1.
American Society for Healthcare Engineering A new ASHE monograph explains how to comply with ASHRAE Standard 188:Legionello sis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems. The monograph explains ASHRAE 188 requirements; outlines recommended steps to compliance, including the creation of an overall water risk management plan; addresses maintenance, monitoring, and emergency responses; and provides additional information on potential pathogens and response methods. ASHE members can download a free PDF of this useful new publication.
