American Society for Healthcare Engineering ASHE is working with the Healthcare Infrastructure Research program in Washington, D.C., to identify and highlight innovations in our field. ASHE members and others can submit innovative work from their hospitals or companies for consideration in this project.
 
American Society for Healthcare Engineering The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently issued two new survey and certification memos. One memo states that health care facilities may use the 2013 edition of the Fire Safety Evaluation System (FSES) to demonstrate compliance with fire safety requirements. The other memo clarifies installation requirements for automatic fire sprinkler systems in long-term facilities. Both memos are available on the ASHE website.
