TCA Legislative Day on Feb. 9 in Austin proved to be a record-setting event. In all, more than 500 doctors of chiropractic, staff, college students and faculty, and chiropractic supporters participated in the 120+ scheduled visits with the offices of state senators and representatives. Team TCA spent the day educating legislators and staffs about chiropractic, garnering support for TCA’s legislative initiatives and advocating for greater access for all Texans to chiropractic care. The first day of the Texas Chiropractic Legislative Conference (TCLC) was action-packed and concluded with the TCLC Legislative Reception at Scholz Garten. A big thank you to reception sponsors Parker University, Texas Chiropractic College and OUM, in addition to everyone who joined us for TCA Legislative Day. Check out the next issue of Texas Chiropractic eSource for photos and highlights!

Two bills in this installment would limit former members of the legislature or congress from serving as lobbyists, one would permit a massive expansion of the scope of practice for nurse practitioners, and one would call for a review to determine if various state agencies should continue to be required to file lawsuits in Travis County.

Using "geroprotection" drugs could make people live longer so that they could pay taxes longer and save the economy. Well, that's one point of view.

President Trump has taken the first step towards dismantling the Affordable Care Act. He has ordered, in essence, that any tax imposed by the Affordable Care Act would be overturned.

One thing is clear. When it comes to the Affordable Care Act there is too much "party-ing" going on.
