The Importance of Membership

Membership is the cornerstone of any professional association, and it’s particularly important to the Texas Chiropractic Association. In fact, membership accounts for nearly half of TCA’s annual revenue. Your annual dues allow TCA to service you as a member and, more importantly, make it possible for the TCA team to protect the chiropractic profession that we all cherish.

Did you know that, of the more than 5,300 licensed doctors in Texas, less than half belong to their state association? Clearly, we have some work to do as a profession. For those who are TCA members, thank you for supporting TCA. For those who aren’t members, what are you waiting for? Become a TCA member today!

Here are just a few tangible benefits you’ll receive as a TCA member:

  • Your subscription to the Texas Chiropractic eSource newsletter. A few months ago, we relaunched TCA’s weekly e-newsletter, TCA Bulletin, as Texas Chiropractic eSource. This information-packed resource comes out every other Friday. We hope you are enjoying eSource and want your feedback. Let us know what you think by sending an email to Dr. Chris Dalymple, our tireless editor, at editor@chirotexas.org.
  • Your subscription to the quarterly Texas Journal of Chiropractic magazine. You’ll notice that your journal looks different. That’s because TCA completed a major redesign of this publication, starting with the Winter 2016 issue. While we continue to bring informative articles from leaders in the profession for you and your staff, we have a slick package courtesy of our new publisher, Naylor Association Solutions. We’ve even added a digital version for those who’d rather get their news from their smartphone; we’ve included a link to this debut issue in the newsletter. As a former journalist, I am extremely proud of the new direction of Texas Journal of Chiropractic magazine and hope you feel the same way. Haven’t received your copy yet in your mailbox or inbox? Let us know – email the TCA office at info@chirotexas.org or call us at (512) 477-9292.
  • Significant discounts off continuing education. As a TCA member, you’ll save big off your registration fees on the 2016 Mid-Winter Conference (Feb. 26-28, Lubbock) and Chiro Texpo ’16 (June 10-12, Arlington). You also will enjoy the member discount off the many one-day seminars TCA is offering in 2016 on topics ranging from concussion and Medicare to HIPAA and leg length inequality. Want to save even more and up your support to TCA? Become a TCA Elite or Premium member.
  • Discounts off products and services. TCA has negotiated deals on your behalf with companies on products and services you use in your practice from website design and marketing services (Chiro Matrix and OnlineChiro) and tax preparation (West Austin Tax) to group insurance (KindHealth) and office supplies (Office Depot). Check out TCA’s Affiliate Members. Ask for the TCA discount!
  • Networking with your colleagues. Above anything else, TCA is a community of chiropractors, and you’re part of that. Get involved in the conversation! Join the Texas Chiropractic Association Facebook group. Or, attend district meetings, TCA Tour of Texas events, and TCA-sponsored conferences and CE seminars. Have a question for an expert? Call the TCA office at (512) 477-9292, and we’ll put you in touch with someone who can provide an answer.

TCA is here for you, our members. But we’re also here for the entire chiropractic profession in Texas. Want to help out? Get involved or encourage non-member DCs to join TCA today! Membership is the key. The more members we have, the more effective we’ll be as a team.

Until next time,

Jeffrey S. Jenkins
Executive Director, Texas Chiropractic Association
