The 43rd TXAPA Annual Meeting is scheduled for September 19-23, 2017 at the La Torretta Resort in Montgomery, Texas. The hotel is located on Lake Conroe.

TXAPA has been very busy for the first part of 2017. Partners in Quality meetings with TxDOT have been a very important part of association business. The goal for 2017 is to conduct a minimum of 30 PIQ meetings throughout the state. To date there have been six completed. These districts include: Atlanta, Austin, Bryan, Lufkin, Paris and San Antonio. There are four upcoming PIQ meetings scheduled with more to come.

TXAPA committees have been busy working

The TxDOT highway letting is scheduled for March 7-8, 2017. The total tonnage for March is 503,599.

OSHA is focusing on ladder safety as March is Ladder safety month. They have put into motion a national outreach campaign to educate on the use and condition of ladders. In our industry ladders such as step ladders and fixed ladders are used quite extensively. Having a ladder inspection program at your facilities will help catch ladder defects and in addition to maintaining compliance with OSHA regs on the subject.
Many in our industry use temporary workers at one time or another. These workers are many times not familiar with our work processes they are at greater risk of injury and illnesse
