Safety: One third of American workers say their employers prioritize productivity over safety

National Safety Council survey finds workers in high-risk jobs such as construction are afraid to report safety issues. Sixty percent of respondents in the construction industry felt safety was less of a priority than finishing tasks. These findings are particularly alarming because the construction industry is very high on the list when it comes to the number of occupational deaths each year.

The Texas Department of Transportation has shipped all Soils & Flexible Bases Proficiency Samples (SB 101, 103 & 201). If you have not received your sample by September 15, contact the Hot Mix Asphalt Center at 512.312.2099. All specialists will have approximately one and a half months to perform and submit results on the HMAC
