Engineers will get a bird’s eye view of the energy use of building envelopes under a project funded through an ASHRAE Undergraduate Senior Project Grant. This year, 24 schools from around the world were awarded grants. The grants, totaling some $110,000, are awarded by ASHRAE to colleges and universities worldwide to promote the study and teaching of HVAC&R, encouraging senior undergraduate students to pursue related careers.

Forty-four states and the District of Columbia added construction jobs between January 2015 and January 2016 while construction employment increased in 30 states and D.C. between December and January, according to analysis of Labor Department data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. Association officials said the new employment figures show strong demand for construction except in a number of energy producing states.

To meet growing demand, the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) is offering a number of exciting new educational opportunities for the polyurethane industry. The expanded offerings provide information about recent advancements in color science and colorant technology along with polyurethane chemistry. These additions were created to help members expand their knowledge further with the already robust offerings.

(BPI) will introduce the Healthy Home Evaluator (HHE) credential to the nation's home performance, weatherization and healthy housing workforce, with the goal of breaking the link between unhealthy housing and unhealthy families through home performance interventions.
