The Energy Department on November 13 released the 2015 Revolution...Nowreport, detailing the state of several clean energy technologies available today in the United States, which provide technology solutions to climate change. The updated report builds upon the past Revolution...Now report, showing dramatically increasing deployment and decreasing costs of four transformational technologies: wind turbines, solar technologies, electric vehicles (EVs), and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). >>Energy Department Launches New Initiative to Help Cities, States Advance Building Efficiency

The Energy Department announced the launch of the SEED Collaborative, a strategic effort to help cities and states manage building energy performance data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in their jurisdictions. Through a three-year partnership, a select group of cities and states will receive technical assistance, participate in peer exchange, and provide input on future development of the Energy Department's Standard Energy Efficiency Data (SEED) Platform, a resource in the Better Buildings toolkit. Participants will be announced early next year.

The Air Barrier Association of America is offering a Sprayed Polyurethane Foam Installer Training Course, Dec. 8-10 at Coastal Insulation Corp. in East Windsor, N.J. The Installer Certification Training Course will take place Dec. 8-9, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Quality Assurance Program Administrator Course is scheduled for Dec. 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has released a new white paper highlighting how residential energy efficiency programs can help make homes’ energy efficiency visible to appraisers, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, homebuyers, and sellers. Prepared by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the white paper provides examples of programs around the United States that are successfully engaging the real estate community and overcoming barriers to valuing energy efficiency in the home resale process.
