New data released by Juniper Research has revealed that the number of IoT (Internet of Things) connected devices is expected to nearly triple between now and 2020, from 13.4 billion to 38.5 billion. According to the research firm, much of this 285% increase will be attributable to uses in the industrial and public services sector, particularly applications such as retail, agriculture, smart buildings and smart grid applications, due to the strong business case to be made for these types of applications.
