SPFA PCP Breaks Previous Record and Completes 73 Field Exams!!

SPFA PCP is pleased to announce that 73 Master Installer Field Exams were completed over the past two days. On Sunday, 35 Field Exams were administered and today, 38 Field Exams were completed. The exams were divided between Roofing (38) and Insulation (35). Special thanks to all the dedicated SPF professionals who contributed to the success of this massive undertaking! PCP Testing Practices Pass With Flying Colors!

SprayFoam had a first.In accordance with ISO 17024, the certification process needs to be audited each year. This year, the audit was conducted on the delivery of both the written exams and the field exams. Improvements were made to the field exam delivery process this year, which drastically increased the amount of field exams that could be conducted. At the completion of the audit today, there were no major non-conformances, no minor non-conformances and no opportunities for improvement, basically a perfect score! These results reflect the hard work and dedication of all the people involved in the PCP process. A huge thanks to all those who helped achieve this.

The Contractor Industry Excellence Awards recognize SPFA contractor members’ exceptional accomplishments for the quality of their work, the uniqueness of the project, speed of application, superiority of polyurethane, ability of foam to conform to unusual/irregular surfaces and special safety considerations. There are five different award categories: Residential Wall, Commercial Wall, SPF Roof under 40,000 sq. ft., SPF Roof over 40,000 sq. ft. and Specialty Applications (formerly Tanks &Vessels and Other). Golf Tournament Set for Monday

Join us for 18 holes of world-class golf at Classic Club. This nationally recognized championship course designed by Arnold Palmer and a host site of the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, creates a new spin on desert golf with rolling terrain, wide landing areas, 30 acres of water features, 14 bridges as well as an abundance of pine trees, pine straw ground cover with 5 sets of tees on each hole. The tournament will be played with a shotgun start. The cost for the event is $140 per player and includes green fees, golf cart, range privileges, unlimited bottled water, and box lunch. Thanks to the generous donations of SPF Industry partners and the Sig Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund, the SPFA PCP will be offering FREE Field Exams at Sprayfoam 2017 in Palm Springs, CA. (See attached flyer for list of scholarship sponsors). Candidates seeking certification as either an SPF Roofing Master Installer or an SPF Insulation Master Installer are required to successfully complete a field exam. Normally, Field Exams are $700-$1350. During Sprayfoam 2017 – they will be FREE!! This is the most expensive requirement in the SPFA Certification Program – so take advantage of this opportunity! The Field Exams will be held on Sunday – Monday, January 29-30, 2017 in the parking lot adjacent to the Palm Springs Convention Center. As star of the wildly popular Fast N’ Loud on the Discovery Channel, motor mastermind Richard Rawlings searches the far flung corners of Texas and surrounding states for forgotten and derelict classic cars to buy and restore at his famous Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Richard followed in his dad’s footsteps and developed a passion for cars from an early age, building cars and attending car shows with him. Richard has held several jobs to feed his car habit. He was a firefighter, police officer and paramedic all before he was 21 years old. He eventually left those jobs to start his own business, building a printing and advertising company from the ground up. He later sold it so he could fund his next venture: Gas Monkey Garage — a world-renowned hot rod shop that has produced and shipped cars for people around the world. Richard says: "Bottom line, if we’re gonna have fun, it better have a motor!" Richard will be the Keynote Speaker during the General Session, which starts at 8 am on Wednesday in the Junior Ballroom.

Women's Leadership Reception

The Women's Leadership Reception doubled in size last year, and we are expecting similar growth this year. SPFA initiated this event as it recognizes there is a growing presence of women in leadership positions in the SPF industry. This event enables women to network, bond and discuss issues that are more specific to women in the SPF industry. There will also be some delicious hors d'oeuvres, drinks and lot of laughter. It is taking place at the Pool Balcony (backup: Salon 3) on Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 pm.

The Exhibitor Hall was sold out this year... with a waiting list! And, for good reason. It was nonstop action and nothing but good feedback was overheard. According to SPFA Executive Director Kurt Riesenberg, "The Exhibit Hall was the most diverse-ever offering of SPF materials, equipment and services the industry has ever seen. As the industry continues to grow the Exhibit Hall will become even more of an epicenter for the growth and progress of SF businesses." More than 90 exhibitors and more than 1,000 attendees cruised the sold-out Sprayfoam 2015 tradeshow floors.
