Office-market fundamentals in the nation’s 10 major metro areas generally remained solid during the second quarter, Colliers International said Wednesday. At the same time, the firm points to a leveling off of rent growth and to a pair of key factors that suggest upward pressure on vacancy rates: tenant downsizing and new supply.

The increasingly common use of smartphones sent demand for new data centers soaring in 2016, and the resulting development boom shows no sign of abating. According to a new mid-year report from Chicago-based JLL, data center construction in North America has so far increased 43% from 2016.
