Why Did We Have to Cancel our April 19 CEU Courses?

By Beverly Gorman, CEU Committee Chair

The CEU committee had to make the difficult decision to cancel Clearing the Air: Fresh Ideas in Bathroom and Kitchen Ventilation and The Air Inside: Understanding Indoor Air Quality, both scheduled on April 19, because of insufficient enrollment. Although registration for all of our Spring 2012 courses opened on February 17th and we had received a significant number of registrations for Legal Issues in the Design Arena on March 21 and How to Shoot Yourself: a Digital Photography Workshop for the Interior Designer on May 18, only two people had signed up for Clearing the Air and one for The Air Inside when the CEU committee met on March 14th. We felt that minimizing the chapter’s financial losses was the only fiscally responsible decision the CEU committee could make, however we are left with some unanswered questions and are asking for your input.

•    Was the subject matter not "sexy" enough?
•    Was the timing unfortunate for some reason?
•    Was cost an issue?
•    Did you assume that you could just register later?

The CEU committee schedules a variety of courses over a broad range of subjects in order to meet members’ continuing education needs. We would love to hear from you about why these two courses didn’t fit the bill. Please email your feedback to bevhome@aol.com. Thank you for taking the time let us know how we can better serve you as we plan future CEU offerings.
