Columbia, SC - After a two-year battle, Governor Nikki Haley gave final approval by signing S.1258, the road funding bond bill, into law. The bill allows the use $212 million in redirected existing fees and other revenue to bond up to $2.2 billion in one-time funding through the State Infrastructure Bank. The bonded money will be prioritized on a needs-based methodology by SCDOT over ten years for long-term highway projects and bridge replacement.

It also brought with it a time to recover from the historic floods and time to heal from the Emmanuel Nine Tragedy.
