What is the Quartzsite RV Show?
Each year, January brings RVers in the hundred of thousands (no kidding!) to the small desert town of Quartzsite, Arizona, for the Quartzsite RV Show, billed as the "largest consumer RV show in the U.S." Vendors set up shop in and around the Big Top, sharing the latest and greatest RV products while RV parks, state tourist bureaus and associations tell RVers about the benefits of camping in their states and parks. Check the website, www.quartzsitervshow.com, for more information about the show.

What is this place called Quartzsite, Arizona?
Established as a stage stop on the site of old Fort Tyson in 1866, Quartzsite's history is rich with prospecting and mining from the 1880s to the early 1900s. Even today's modern miners and prospectors are drawn to "try their luck." Many find nuggets, gold dust, and specimen-quality, gold-bearing quartz.

In the town of Quartzsite, the Hi Jolly Monument honors the camel driver, Hadji Ali, who took part in an unsuccessful 1850s experiment to use camels as beasts of burden in the desert. To the south rise the Kofa Mountains. Historic and scenic areas include Crystal Hill, Tyson Tanks and Tyson Wells Stage Station Museum. Palm Canyon, a tight gorge and home of Arizona's only native palms, is also located in the Kofa Mountains.

Where is Quartzsite?
Quartzsite is located in the southwest corner of Arizona, 20 miles east of the California border, off Interstate 10.
