Wood fiber costs for European hardwood pulp producers started to move upward in late 2017 after having trended downward for over six years. Despite the long-term price decline for hardwood pulpwood, the continent's pulp mills still have some of the highest wood costs in the world.
U.S. P&W Paper Shipments Decrease 5% in March
U.S. purchases of P&W papers decreased 7% in March. Total P&W paper inventory levels decreased 2% percent from February 2018. Imports of P&W papers increased 6% compared with February 2017 imports, while exports increased 5% compared with February 2017.
