In January, the Canadian mill kicked off its commemoration by donating 5,000 lb. of copy paper to The United Way of Greater Kingsport and 30 of its member agencies. Additional activities and events will be announced throughout the year as Domtar’s Kingsport mill continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community

First Print Exclusive U.K. Daily Newspaper Launched in 30 Years
A spokesman for the new print newspaper said that "people can interact with the publication through Facebook and Twitter, but we will not be posting news and other content online. There are lots of other sites doing that really well so that is not the space we are going to compete in." It will be printed on 54 gsm SCA Grapholnvent, which is brighter and thicker than most newsprint.

The month-to-month average daily production compared with December 2015 was 5.3% higher. The containerboard operating rate for January increased to 95.2%.
 
North American P&W Paper Demand Down in January
North American printing and writing (P&W) paper demand was down 5.9% y/y in January 2016. Demand for coated mechanical grades plunged a total of 18%, according to the Pulp and Paper Products Council (PPPC).
