A new study confirms what proponents of single-use corrugated containers have been saying for years, that "the corrugating process uses temperatures high enough to kill germs, ensuring that the boxes don’t introduce pathogens into the food supply chain."

 

In an age where governments delete emails and people take down tweets or posts that garner too much negative attention, there is something right and just about keeping a permanent written record. Public funding alone will probably not save print journalism.

 

The new "CD Laboratory for Fibre Swelling and its Influence on the Properties of Paper" at Graz University of Technology in Austria, will investigate how to optimally combine key characteristics of paper to achieve the desired result, very precise modeling of fiber swelling under the varying conditions of wet and dry.

 

A spokesman for the new print newspaper said that "people can interact with the publication through Facebook and Twitter, but we will not be posting news and other content online. There are lots of other sites doing that really well so that is not the space we are going to compete in." It will be printed on 54 gsm SCA Grapholnvent, which is brighter and thicker than most newsprint.
