Wood fiber based housings for electronics, essentially e-paper products, aren't commercially available yet, but the potential they hold is great. Sustainability from greater recyclability, lighter weight, and energy savings could be offered by novel e-concepts all based around the use of P&P products. The mill currently produces tissue paper that it sells as parent rolls for the private label market. The company's CFO would eventually like to see the company go into the retail business and sell a tissue product under its own brand name.

Australian Paper’s COO said that despite the best efforts and ongoing support of employees at Shoalhaven during a difficult number of years to remain competitive, the market for specialty and security papers such as cheque and watermark papers has continued to experience a significant and sustained drop in demand.
 
Ecofibras Starts up TM 5 after Major Rebuilding in Zalla, Spain
The project’s scope was to rebuild the existing machine into a crescent former. TM 5 was originally equipped with a suction breast former and sloped wire configuration, to produce lower tissue grades, improve the machine’s speed, and improve overall runnability and maintenance.
 
Felix Schoeller Group Commissions Rebuilding of PM 14 in Günzach, Germany
The extensive rebuild of the paper machine is scheduled to take place in Q4 of this year. It includes a new headbox, an IR drier, a new calender, and a "TURBOCombiSizer"—including the size mixing station.
 
G-P to Get $1-2 Million Subsidy to Support $135 Million Investment at Muskogee Tissue Mill
Eric Miller, director of the port authority’s business and economic development division, described G-P as "a corporate and civic stalwart in Muskogee." In a media release issued Tuesday after directors approved the Oklahoma mill's incentive package, Miller said he was "delighted to be able to support Georgia-Pacific's Muskogee facility's continued growth and vitality."
 
South Florida Paper Recycler Files Chapter 11 after $8 Million in Sales Dwindle
The debtor's attorney in Miami said the company had expanded into the waste and refuse collection service and had several contracts with Waste Management. While that business had strong revenues, it operated at a loss because of high expenses. The company will attempt to return exclusively to paper recycling.
 
Vinda Group Orders Three New Toscotec Tissue Machines
Due to increased demand, the company says it is "stepping up its expansion plan" and, in line with a strong partnership with Toscotec, Marlia, Italy, it has decided to place orders for three new tissue lines at its two mills in Sichuan and Shandong provinces.

LusterCote has been fully qualified by leading label converters in the U.S. and Canada and is produced at Sappi's Somerset Mill in Skowhegan, Maine. It will be sold directly to label printers and converters. LusterCote is initially available in both 55 lb. and 60 lb. basis weights.

Family Firm Builds Solid Foundation for India’s Wastepaper Recycling Needs
Wastepaper as raw material is environmentally-friendly, reducing solid waste. However, the present recovery and use of wastepaper and waste materials in paper mills in India is lower than in many other countries. Currently, it is only 20% of the total paper and paper board consumed.

Company has named Maria Henry as Buthman's successor. Henry, who was the CFO of Hillshire Brands Co. from 2012 to 2014, and CFO of Sara Lee's North American Retail and Food Service business from 2011 to 2012, will become SVP and CFO, effective April 27, and will work with Buthman on a smooth transition.
