Currently the price is still "healthy" but is at the same level now that it was in during late 2010 when the U.S. was in an economic recession.

Research into the Chinese pulp market over a recent period clearly demonstrates the country's pulp importation levels / need for pulp from the P&P industry is growing nearly exponentially or that there is a clear need for the raw forest based product (tree pulp) over the last three months. Although unconfirmed , the Chinese government may be promoting deliberately to what may be their short or mid-term economic needs in pulp & paper production.
