TissueCon 2019 Program Highlights Sustainability

TissueCon 2019  offers a comprehensive program featuring business insights, the latest in product innovation and a deep dive into critical areas like fiber availability and sustainability.

Specific sessions on sustainability include one with Ronalds Gonzlaez, Ph.D., Faculty of Integrated Conversion Economics and Supply Chain, and co-director of the Tissue Pack Innovation Lab at North Carolina State University, discussing “Sustainability, Performance and Pricing for Bath Tissue and Kitchen Towels: Evidence from the Field.” Dr. Gonzalez has more than 16 years of progressive industry experience in different corporate business roles, and his research focuses on profiling the potential profitability, sustainability and risks of new technologies and materials at the early stage.

Bruce Janda with Fisher International will also lead a session, “Will Sustainability Pressures Disrupt the Tissue Business?” Mr. Janda has over 40 years of experience in the paper and nonwovens industry, is a TAPPI Fellow, holds 19 U.S. tissue and papermaking patents, and authors a regular column for Fisher on tissue matters.

At the first-ever New Technology Showcase, conference-goers will also hear about “Increased Productivity with Sustainable Non-Destructive Dry Ice Cleaning,” with Tyson Marlowe of Cold Jet.

With sustainability being one of the key issues shaping the future of tissue, these presentations are relevant to the industry. Make plans to attend!
