Pixelle Tradebook Announcement

Abraham Lincoln was about to be reelected for a second term as U.S. President.

The Civil War was entering it’s fourth summer and the devastation on human lives and destruction of our young country was climbing swiftly.

And it was also the year a small one ton/day fine writing papers mill in south-central Pennsylvania (Spring Grove) was bought out of near-bankruptcy and led on an eventual path of producing high-quality bulking book papers that became the industry standard for well over a Century. Indeed, Glatfelter (York, Penn., USA) Offset was, and is, more widely used by book publishers and printers than any comparative grades, even to this day.

It is with all of that back drop and long, rich history, that we are renaming our very popular Glatfelter Offset grade: 1864 Trade Book.

Although the grade name is changing, the Paper Mills, Machines, Rewinders, Sheeters, and papermakers themselves all remain the same. So do all of the popular shades, weights, bulks (PPI) that your company has counted on for many, many years. So too does our brand commitment to high quality and consistency that our bulking trade book papers have always been known to deliver our book publisher and printer customers.

In addition, Glatfelter End Leaf grade will become 1864 End Leaf, still available in 80# weight, in both a Natural B18 and Blue-White D37 shades. Rolls and Sheets.

There are no changes to our Natures Book 30% PCW FSC grade line, nor are there any changes to our 80# Natures FSC End Leaf products.
