Kemira Increases Prices of Coagulant Products in EMEA Region

Kemira (Helsinki, Finland) a global chemicals company, announced late this past month price increases for all coagulant products in the EMEA region across all segments. The price increases will become effective as of today (Nov. 1, 2018) or as contract terms allow.

Price increases are necessary due to significant cost increases from several sides. All freight rates have considerably increased in 2018 and are expected to continue to rise. Raw materials especially for aluminum-based coagulants pose an unusual challenge as the tight supply situation is globally driving cost up to unprecedented levels. Shortage of raw materials for iron-based coagulants also continue pushing cost further up.

Coagulants that are Al-based will face a10-15% price increase while the Fe-based product family will see a 6-9% price increase. The price increases will vary based on different product types and may be significantly higher in specific countries. Kemira said that it does its best to mitigate impact of this increasing cost while ensuring supply of high quality products to its customers.
