Kick off TAPPI Nano 2018 with Two Workshops

The first day of TAPPI’s International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials, taking place 11-14 June 2018 in Madison, Wis., USA, provides attendees the opportunity to participate in two significant half-day workshops:

Practical Safety Strategies for Bio/Nano Technology Commercialization
Monday, 11 June, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Focusing on the demonstration of occupational, environmental, and consumer health and safety for new technologies, with special consideration of bio-based and nanoscale materials, the team from Vireo Advisors, will use interactive presentations to address:
CNM Characterization Workshop – Primary Characterization
Monday, 11 June, 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

It is critical for understanding, process optimization, and utilization of cellulose nanomaterials (CNMs) to use characterization measurement protocols that give consistent, reliable, and accurate results. However, exponential growth in the interest and activity of CNMs has outpaced the development of these measurement protocols. Join Johan Foster, Virginia Tech, and Robert Moon, USDA Forest Service, as they discuss best practices and limitations for several techniques and methods typically used for the characterization of CNMs, in particular surface charge, purity, crystallinity, particle morphology, and mechanical properties..

Separate registration fees are required for each workshop:
Make plans to attend the only international conference dedicated specifically to the production and use of cellulose nanomaterials –TAPPI’s International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials. Conference early-bird rates end 10 May 2018.
