Samford Promoted to EVP Finance at Vortex Companies


The Vortex Companies, Houston, Texas, USA, announced that it has promoted Matthew Samford from corporate controller to EVP of Finance. "During the past two years, Matt's played an integral role in the company's rapid expansion," said Craig Strawbridge, Vortex Companies CFO. Samford graduated from Texas A&M University's, Mays Business School in 2003 and holds both a B.S. degree in accounting and a masters degree in finance. He has been a licensed CPA in the state of Texas since 2005. Prior to joining The Vortex Companies in 2016, Matthew was an audit manager at a Big 4 accounting firm, before transitioning into the construction industry. "I've found I really like the unique challenges presented when working for a major construction services company and enjoy contributing to such a successful and talented team," Samford said.
