Wikström Appointed SVP, Production, at Metsa Fibre Pulp Business


Camilla Wikström has been appointed SVP, production, at Pulp Business of Metsä Fibre, Finland, and a member of Metsä Fibre’s management team, as of Jan. 1, 2018. She is currently working as mill manager at the company’s Äänekoski (Finland) bioproduct mill. In her new position, Wikström reports to Ismo Nousiainen, CEO of Metsä Fibre.

Ilkka Poikolainen has been appointed VP, mill manager of Äänekoski bioproduct mill as of Jan. 1, 2018. He is currently working as mill manager of the Rauma pulp mill. In his new position, Poikolainen reports to Wikström.

The Rauma mill new manager will be appointed later.

Metsä Fibre is a producer of bioproducts and bioenergy. The company’s pulp brand is Botnia and the sawn timber brand is Metsä Nordic Timber. The company’s bleached softwood and birch pulp grades have been developed for the production of high-quality board, tissue, and printing paper and specialty products. The main applications for spruce and pine sawn timber are products for construction and interior decoration as well as window and door joinery and raw material for the packaging industry. Currently employing approximately 1 200 people, the company’s sales totaled EUR 1.4 billion in 2016. Metsä Fibre is part of the Metsä Group.
