Charta Global Offers New Paper/Packaging Products for Mexican Markets

Charta Global, Anaheim, Calif., USA, this past week announced via its strategic partner, Asia Pulp & Paper, the availability of two new select products in Mexico—Paperline photocopy grade for the niche 70 GSM market and a new food packaging portfolio, Foopak. Paperline will be solely available via select Mexico distribution partners, while Foopak will be channeled through Perez Trading Co. Consumer Packaging Group, Miami, Fla., USA. APP and Charta are now well positioned to service the rapidly growing Mexican marketplace for both high-quality, high yield photocopy paper and multi-purpose packaging solutions.

"Our approach in Mexico is to focus on niche sectors, adding product differentiation and creating new innovative market segments that complement the domestic product categories," said Anthony Atamimi, Latin America sales director for Asia Pulp & Paper. "During the past year, we have streamlined our distribution channels and are now pleased to be working with local partners to help grow and expand these new markets."

Paperline copy paper offers customers a premium, high-yield 70 GSM, 100% virgin pulp grade with all the properties of a 97 bright white and bulky sheet, which are required for today’s high speed, full coverage, state-of-the-art digital printing needed for high quality laser color photo-copying, ink-jet, and reprographics. The 70 gsm copy paper is new to the Mexico market where 75 gsm is the common standard.

Foopak is a full suite of high yield, multi-layered white folding box board grades born of both Sinar Vanda and Sinar Kraft board. Foopak is FDA-certified for food and beverage packaging, including grocery, quick-serve, take-out, and bakery. The extensive line includes the new biodegradable OBA-free products, which include cup stock and board grades, the hard-sized grease proof in various kit levels for oven, microwave, and freezer, and liners for bakery, dairy, and confection.
"It is a very dynamic time in our industry and we are pleased to be working with APP," said Eladio Del Riego, V.P. of Consumer Packaging Group at Perez Trading Co. "We specialize in the folding carton industry and by working together, we are able to develop the new high-demand packaging solutions end-users and converters are requesting."
