Iggesund Takes Month Shutdown at Workington for BM 2 Upgrade

Iggesund Paperboard, Sweden, this week ceased production for a month at its 200,000 metric tpy Workington folding boxboard mill in the U.K. The shutdown is being taken to allow a new press section to be installed on the mill’s BM 2.

Installation of the press section is expected to take a month and will result in a 10% (20,000 metric tpy) capacity increase as well as improved board quality.

Iggesund Paperboard is part of the forest industry group Holmen, which owns more than 1.3 million hectares of forest in Sweden. It makes two of the world's leading paperboard brands—Invercote and Incada.
