Anu Ahola has been appointed SVP responsible for SBU Newspaper Publishing, of UPM (Finland) ENA corporate division (Europe and North America) as of March 1, the company announced on Monday (February 29).

Ahola is currently SVP responsible for strategy and energy within UPM Paper ENA. She has been in her current role since 2013. Ahola joined UPM in 2007, being responsible for strategy creation and implementation processes and Paper Business Group’s strategy development. Prior to joining UPM, she worked for Nokia and Pöyry.

She has a master’s degree in technology from Helsinki University of Technology, and a MBA from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration.

She will be based in Helsinki and Augsburg and reports to Winfried Schaur, EVP, UPM Paper ENA.
