KapStone Container Will Expand Bowling Green Operation

KapStone Container Corp., Northbrook, Ill., USA, a maker of corrugated and paper packaging, will spend $4.5 million to expand its Bowling Green, Ky., operation (photo). The news came quickly during the past week after the Kentucky Economic Development Authority gave preliminary approval of $400,000 in tax incentives if the company purchases new machinery, equipment, and makes facility upgrades. The project plans to increase 30 permanent jobs to meet increased production demands.

"Today’s announcement is a demonstration that KapStone Container continues to build on its growth as a leading national manufacturer in its field," Gov. Steve Beshear said in a news release. "We’ve worked hard with our community partners to make southcentral Kentucky attractive to businesses, and that work is paying off. I’m proud of the new jobs and such a significant investment here in Bowling Green."

KapStone Container is a subsidiary of KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp. The company is a producer of unbleached kraft paper and corrugated packaging products.
