Imerys Ceramics North America, Roswell, Ga., USA, reports that it will increase prices up to 15% on all of its ball clay and kaolin products manufactured in the U.S., effective Jan. 1, 2015, subject to any provisions in individual contracts. The price increase supports investment in manufacturing, quality systems, maintenance, environmental compliance, and new product development, Imerys notes.

 

Customers purchasing products on a delivery basis will also see a cost increase due to highly volatile and increasing truck and rail freight rates. Imerys says that it continues to work with its freight partners to minimize this impact as much as possible.
