Pöyry Makes Changes to Group Executive Committee

Pöyry, Vantaa, Finland, continues to streamline its business operations and adjust management structure with a view to improve efficiency. In this regard, the company reports that Alexis Fries, president and CEO will act as chairman of Pöyry's regional operations.

Marcelo Cordaro, currently president of Pöyry's operations in Brazil, has been appointed president of regional operations in Latin America and a member of the Group Executive Committee reporting to the president and CEO.

Nicholas Oksanen, currently president of Pöyry's Pulp and Paper Business Unit has been named president of Industry Business Group and a member of the Group Executive Committee.

Richard Pinnock, currently EVP for group strategic growth has been named EVP for global sales and project management with the responsibility of strengthening the group's global sales. He will also continue to develop the group's Large Projects Competence Centre. The Project Management Services Business Unit, currently part of the Industry Business Group, will be integrated under the Global Sales and Project Management Function. Pinnock continues as a member of the Group Executive Committee.

Pasi Tolppanen, president of regional operations for Northern Europe, president of Pöyry's operations in Finland and member of the Group Executive Committee, and Marcelo Cordaro have been appointed vice-chairmen for regional operations supporting the president and CEO in promoting the regional business model, successfully implemented in Northern Europe, to other key countries for Pöyry.

Regional operations for Alpine Arc and central Europe will be combined into one region, Central Europe, which includes three of Pöyry's key countries—Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The respective country presidents will report directly to Alexis Fries, president, CEO, and chairman of regional operations.

The Mining and Metals Business Unit, currently part of the Industry Business Group, will be integrated into the regional operations for Northern Europe. Regional operations for the Asia-Pacific areas, including local operations in China and Thailand, will be integrated into the Energy Business Group.

Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm involved in the energy, forest industry, and infrastructure and environment sectors. It focuses on power generation, transmission and distribution, forest industry, chemicals and biorefining, mining and metals, transportation, water, and real estate sectors.
