Garlock Launches New Line of Valve Stem Packing Materials

The Garlock family of companies, Palmyra, N.Y., USA, has released Garlock Style 5882, a new line of low-friction valve stem packing materials designed for control valve applications using steam, water, or air. The stem packing materials are available in three different configurations.

"Style 5882 is a leap forward in accomplishing leak-free, low friction valve stem sealing for our power generation customers," says Mike Kupin, compression packing materials product manager at Garlock. "By providing several options, our customers can use Style 5882 in a wide range of applications to effectively seal their control valves while minimizing the actuation forces required."

Garlock Style 5882 valve stem packing combines a high-quality braided carbon fiber core with a thin PTFE shell, optimizing structural stability and low-friction qualities for smooth valve actuation properties that are vital for control valve effectiveness and confident operation.

Three Garlock Style 5882 valve stem packing line options will be available:
All three options can be custom designed to fit unique dimensional requirements, and can be manufactured with carbon bushings to optimize box depth and set performance.
