PulPaper 2014 Releases Complete Conference Program

With less than four months remaining before the June 3 grand opening of PulPaper 2014 in Helsinki, Finland, the organizing committee has released the event’s complete conference program. According to Pirkko Molkentin-Matilainen, president and CEO of PI Paper Engineers Association, "Helsinki and the PulPaper 2014 event are ready to deliver their best performance ever in June 2014."

Based on the European vision 2050 for the bioforest industry, "this time we offer the most groundbreaking international conference focused on future bioforest issues. In connection with the conference, visitors have a unique opportunity to see the only foam forming pilot machine in the world by attending the excursion to VTT Jyväskylä, Molkentin-Matilainen. Celebrating its 100th anniversary with a spectacular gala evening in the brand new Helsinki Music Centre on June 4, the PI Paper Engineers Association would like to extend to everyone a warm welcome to come celebrate with us," Molkentin-Matilainen points out.

Biofuture for Mankind is the main theme of this year’s PulPaper international conference, covering the topic of bioeconomy and resource management for a sustainable world. The program has been carefully put together by industry leaders and experts led by Chairman Jorma Eloranta.

An important part of the conference program, and running alongside the main conference, is the 29th International Mechanical Pulping Conference (IMPC), a scientific event circulating annually between the different continents. IMPC presentations will cover the whole area from fundamentals and energy efficiency to new applications and innovations, as well as mill experiences. The IMPC Program Committee is chaired by Sari Liukkonen, VTT Technical Research.

Composition of the complete PulPaper 2014 Conference Program has been overseen and organized by AEL, Finland's leading provider of technical training.

"This top level international conference, with its world premiere exhibition and 100th anniversary celebration of PI, will gather industry professionals from some 65 different countries," Marcus Bergström, CEO, Adforum, says. "New for this eighth edition is the Paper Square, a stage and exhibition area in the middle of the hall where participants of the event will have the opportunity to meet pulp, paper, and board producing companies of Metsä Group, UPM, Stora Enso, and SAPPI. At Paper Square, these companies will be updating us on trends and news in the industry," he explains.

More information and registration for the event is available online.
