Rottneros Mill to Continue Production of Mechanical Pulps

The Rottneros Group, Sweden, reports that due to the successful development of pulp from both virgin and recycled fibers used to make paperboards, the company has decided to continue the production of groundwood pulp at the mill. Plans announced in the spring of 2012 to shut down the mill's groundwood line will not be implemented, which means that notices of termination will no longer be given to approximately 30 employees. The line will also continue to produce pulp for printing paper and special applications.

With the groundwood line and the CTMP line in full production, the company notes that its Rottneros Mill is one of the most comprehensive suppliers of high-yield pulp throughout the world, with customers in Europe, Asia, and North America.

Rottneros is an independent producer of market pulp. The Group includes the parent company Rottneros and its subsidiaries Rottneros Bruk AB and Vallviks Bruk AB, with operations involving the production and sale of market pulp. The Group, which also includes the wood procurement company Rottneros Baltic SIA in Latvia, has around 300 employees and had a turnover of approximately SEK 1.5 billion in the 2012 financial year.
