Bohui Paper to Upgrade BCTMP Line at Board Mill in China

Bohui Paper, China, has ordered a new pre-treatment stage for its BCTMP (bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp) line at its mill in Shandong Province. To be supplied by Andritz, Graz, Austria, the new pre-treatment stage for the board production line will have a capacity of approximately 600 metric tpd. It includes an Andritz Impressafiner MSD, impregnator, and chip bin discharger. Startup is scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.

The Impressafiner MSD is a key component in pre-treatment for Andritz mechanical pulping systems, and is essential for state-of-the-art TMP processes, Andritz notes. The benefits of pre-treatment with the Impressafiner MSD includes maximum liquor uptake while squeezing out unwanted extractives and heavy metals. Also, chip treatment in the pre-treatment stage balances the chip bulk density and moisture profile, preparing the chips for the refining process, which delivers optimum pulp properties and energy savings.

Bohui Paper is a Chinese producer of folding boxboard, testliner, kraftliner, and printing and writing papers.
