Ilim Group Produces 362,000 mtpy of Pulp, Paper Products in First Quarter

During the first quarter of 2013, Ilim Group, Russia, a joint venture with International Paper Co., Memphis, Tenn., USA, reports that its mills in Siberia (the Bratsk and Ust-Ilimsk mills) produced some 362,000 metric tons of pulp and paper products. This almost equals performance in the similar period of the previous year.

Ilim's figures include about 309,000 metric tons of pulp, which is 2% less than January-March 2012. Market containerboard production increased 11%, reaching 54,000 metric tons in the first quarter of 2013. The company's wood harvesting decreased by 5% from the 1,360,000 cubic meters of wood harvested in the same period of the previous year.
