Fusion Paperboard Promotes Laroche to GM, Somer to Sales & Marketing VP

Fusion Paperboard, Sprague, Conn., USA, has promoted Joel Laroche to GM of its Boxboard Division. Laroche will be responsible for overseeing operations at the Sprague Mill, including production, maintenance, and sales and marketing. He has served as director of operations for the Sprague Mill since the creation of Fusion Paperboard in 2011, and has been instrumental in leading the mill.

Reporting to Laroche, Hank Somer has accepted the position of VP, sales and marketing. Somer has been involved with the sales team for the Sprague Mill since 2006. He has served as national accounts manager with Fusion Paperboard since June 2011. Somer has extensive experience in paperboard, holding key operational and sales roles in the industry for more than 25 years. In addition to sales and marketing, he will oversee customer service at the Sprague Mill.

Fusion Paperboard operates two facilities—a Connecticut-based paperboard mill and a Kentucky-based converting plant. The Sprague Mill produces lnverKote and lnverFreez, which are grades of coated recycled boxboard made from 100% recycled fiber with a minimum of 60% post-consumer content and are FSC and Rain Forest Alliance Certified. The Converting plant in Hebron, Ky., produces high quality folding cartons. It is AlB certified and operates two web offset presses and a full finishing department.
