Korsnäs Investing in Productivity Improvement at Frövi Packaging, Cartonboard Mill

Korsnäs AB, Gävle, Sweden, is investing SEK 250 million in productivity enhancing measures at its Frövi mill in Sweden. The investment is part of "an aggressive venture" in product development and sustainability for Korsnäs' premium products in the global packaging market.

Korsnäs notes that the project strengthens its offering to customers in the Liquid Packaging Board and Cartonboard segments, "bringing improved packaging solutions, more attractive printing results, and increased savings in materials."

Anders Gustafson, sales and market director, Paperboard, at Korsnäs, said that "the investment is focused on our customers and will enhance both their competitiveness, as well as that of Korsnäs. The investment will provide us with an extended product range with lower grammages, helping lessen environmental impact while allowing us to offer products with improved surface qualities, better printing results, and more efficient processes at customers' facilities."

Christer Simrén, CEO Korsnäs, added that the investment "is entirely in line with our ambitious objective to continuously develop and improve our processes and the packaging solutions we offer to the market."
