OpEx Tackles "Difference between Success and Survival"

At the TAPPI two-day (April 23 - 24) OpEx Reliability Seminar being co-located with PaperCon 2012, April 22 - 25, in New Orleans, one key session by Dave Staples of SKF looks at The Difference between Success and Survival: How Many Focus on Machinery Reliability. As Staples notes, "no matter what grade you're producing, the operational challenges in North America can feel insurmountable. The consequences of failure to compete can be brutal—from curtailment to shutdown, and you're left with career options that could result in relocation. Many paper companies have overcome their obstacles by having ‘all hands on deck' for machinery reliability. Best performing companies utilize their operations team as their front-line defense, or maybe more appropriately stated, front-line offense."

In his presentation, Staples, who has more than 20 years of industrial experience specializing in asset reliability technologies and asset management services, discusses how first quartile paper companies depend on a reliability focused operations team. "You'll be amazed at the activities their operators are doing," he says.
