DS SmithPaper to Rebuild Board Machine at U.K. Mill

The Kemsley mill of DS SmithPaper in the U.K. has ordered a major board machine rebuild from Metso, Finland. Startup of the rebuilt machine is scheduled for the second quarter of 2012. The value of the order was not disclosed.

Metso's delivery will include rebuilds of the forming, press, and dryer sections. It additionally includes a new film sizer and a new softnip calender. The scope of supply also includes all installation work related to the rebuild, which will help the Kemsley mill ensure its top-quality board production.

DS SmithPaper is an international supplier of recycled packaging and a key European office products wholesaler with an annual turnover of about EUR 2.4 billion and more than 12,000 employees. The company operates in several European countries, the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
