Article on Digital versus Print Selected as Award Finalist

An article titled "Is Digital Media Worse for the Environment than Print?" has been selected as a finalist for a 2011 Mirror Award. Nominees for the award, sponsored by Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications (New York, USA), were recently announced for the fifth annual Mirror Awards honoring media coverage. Out of more than 200 entries, judges selected articles from AJR, CJR, Nieman Journalism Lab, MediaShift, Gannett Blog, and Poynter, among others. Winners will be announced June 7.

The Mirror Awards are the most important awards for honoring excellence in reporting on the media industry The awards recognize reporters, editors, and teams of writers who hold a mirror to their own industry for the public's benefit. Entries are evaluated based on excellence of craft, framing of the issue, and appropriateness for the intended audience. Winners are chosen by a group of journalists and journalism educators. Winners and finalists are honored at an awards luncheon, held each June in New York City.
