Stora Enso to Build New Woodyard, Woodroom at Skoghall Board Mill

Stora Enso, Finland, reports that it is responding to growing demand and expectations in the packaging market by investing approximately EUR 90 million in its Skoghall Mill in Sweden. The company will build a new woodroom and woodyard at the Skoghall Mill, with annual wood handling capacity of 1.9 million cubic meters. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the fourth quarter of 2012.

"We are continuously rethinking to find efficient new solutions so we can better meet our customers' needs. Skoghall Mill is one of our key assets in the liquid packaging board business in Europe, and this is an important step to improve the mill's competitiveness. In addition, the investment will support the wood and chip handling to all of our Swedish mills," says Mats Nordlander, EVP, Packaging Business Area.
