Uncoated freesheet shipments in North America were down 1.9% from June to July, and down 6.0% y/y, according to Wilde. This is much weaker relative to H1/2010 volumes. Uncoated shipments were up 2.6% y/y in Q1 and down 0.8% in Q2. Ytd shipments through July are down 0.4% y/y.
This trajectory is in-line with trade commentary, Wilde says, adding that "among our coverage, Domtar, International Paper, Glatfelter, and Wausau Paper have exposure to uncoated paper. Boise also has significant exposure to uncoated freesheet."
