Earth Day Poster Session to Focus on Bioresources

To celebrate Earth Day (April 22), Dr. Art Ragauskas, professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA., USA, plans to hold a global poster session on his website dealing with the conversion of forest materials (bioresources) to biofuels, biopower, bio-based materials, and chemicals. The poster session will open Earth Day and be available to the general public.

Anyone wishing to submit a pdf poster should send it to Bob Davies at bob.davies@ipst.gatech.edu along with the poster pdf, submit the following info: poster title, author, organizational affiliation, a two- to three-sentence abstract, and four key words. Indicate the Poster Focus Area: Bioresources, Biofuels, Biopower, Biomaterials, or Bio-based Chemicals. The poster should be in English and more than one submission is welcomed. Please submit early so that all pdf posters can be uploaded. Please do not use any confidential information in the poster as it will be open to the public.

Finally, all posters need present material following the same guidelines as practiced by ACS (American Chemical Society). Dr. Ragauskas notes that "we are looking for posters summarizing research and not an advertisement for commercial products." He adds that "we reserve the right to deny posting a poster if the material is not consistent with general ACS publication policies. We hope that this can become a student focused event on Earth Day and bring our community closer together."
