Ahlstrom Raises Specialty Papers Prices Worldwide

Ahlstrom, a producer of nonwovens and specialty papers, has announced price increases on all of its specialty paper grades, "as profitability has been driven to a very low level by continuous cost increases despite the strong market demand." Prices for all paper grades will increase by at least 10% depending on the nature of the products, regions, and invoicing currencies, the company notes. Effective dates and detailed actions will be discussed with customers by the appropriate business teams. Ahlstrom's Specialty Papers segment has production sites in Brazil (Jacareí), France (Bousbecque, La Gère, Pont-Audemer, Rottersac, Saint-Séverin and Stenay), Germany (Osnabrück and Altenkirchen), Finland (Kauttua), Italy (Turin), and the U.S. (West Carrollton, Ohio). Its products are used in a wide range of applications, such as abrasive papers, furniture foils, food & other packaging, release liners, self-adhesive labels, labels for metallization, engine gaskets, wall papers, posters, and other industrial applications.
