Two Corrugated Competitions Go Olympic

Historically in even years, TAPPI’s Corrugated Packaging Division has sponsored the elite biennial competition for box makers known as the CorrPak® Competition. In odd years, the mainstay event for AICC has always been the Packaging Design Competition.
In 2021, TAPPI and AICC will unite their packaging competitions at the first-ever Box Manufacturing Olympics to be held at TAPPI/AICC’s SuperCorrExpo® 2021 in Orlando, Fla., September 8 – 12.
For years, these two competitions have showcased creative talent across the industry and around the world … from simple sophistication to creatively comprehensive. The Box Manufacturing Olympics is set to bring more excitement and prestige to the industry’s most talented teams of independent and integrated creative thinkers.
Global Exposure on an Olympic Scale
Entry is open to corrugated manufacturers who have produced commercial corrugated packaging products between January 2019 and August 2021. All entries will be on display throughout the 2021 SuperCorrExpo event at the Orange County Convention Center– a leading international destination for both business and leisure travelers.
Cordes Porcher will chair the Box Manufacturing Olympics. He has been in charge of the CorrPak competition for TAPPI since its inception 30 years ago and has also been a judge in the AICC Packaging Design Competition for many years. Cordes will be securing all judges for the new competition, and is also combining the categories from each competition to be sure that every area of the industry is included, from corrugated, to folding carton, to rigid box.
