TAPPI’s International Flexible Packaging and Extrusion Division has announced the rescheduling of its biennial North American Conference to November 30 – December 3, 2020. The Conference, which highlights the Vision of Packaging and Converting: Seeing Beyond 2020, remains at the Intercontinental Hotel in San Diego, Calif.

In making the announcement, Technical Program Chair Darrell Landry of Mica Corporation said, “We are excited that through the change, we are able to maintain the conference content, structure, and activities to bring this unique and scientifically vetted program to the packaging community.  We are grateful to our presenters and organizers for their dedication to the industry and the advancement of technical knowledge." Landry went on to add that TAPPI remains committed to the health and well-being of its members, attendees, volunteers and sponsors.

The rescheduled Conference’s sessions delve into contemporary issues facing the industry, including sustainability, the circular economy and consumer perspectives. Content is aimed at sharing technical advancements in extrusion coating and laminating, as well as creating a more sustainable end product, and centers on meeting needs across the entire supply chain.

Specific topics range from integrating paper fibers into flexible packaging designs, new developments in PET replacement film, and novel paper-based disposable cup technology to machinery solutions for film sustainability, barrier challenges, and extrusion coating versus adhesive lamination.
